Janet is Chair to the Board and resides in Summerland. She is a communications leader with extensive experience in strategic and marketing communications, planning, relationship-building and creative problem solving. She is the owner of Insight Communications.

Ron Britton – Secretary

Ron resides in Naramata and is Secretary to the Board of Community Futures. He is a senior consultant on alternative energy technologies. He has been president and CEO of an Industry Association in the alternative energy sector and also has 30 years of experience leading international business activities in the petrochemical sector. He has a strong technology background.

Kathy Reich CA, CMA, CFP, CPCC is a seasoned financial professional whose diverse set of leadership skills provide her with an extraordinary perspective for her clients.

Her intimacy with the issues families face is both personal and professional. As a Certified Professional Co-Active Coach, Kathy is uniquely qualified to help families successfully navigate the minefields and obstacles of managing sensitive family dynamics.

Combined with her 30 plus years of experience as a Professional Tax Accountant, Chartered Accountant, CFO and Executive, Kathy offers her clients a diverse and unique service: Chief Family Financial Officer.

Jim King – Director

Jim resides in Osoyoos and is a recognized community leader. His record of accomplishments includes operations management, marketing, strategic planning, business development, and human resources. He has managed a big-city crime prevention society and has owned and operated amusement park facilities.

Ben Amos – Director

Ben Amos*

Ben resides in Penticton and is a retired captain in the Royal Canadian Air Force. He spent 28 years as president of the Construction Services Division for a major multi-national cement company. He also managed the development of international sales for a large Canadian malt barley processor, and was a partner in a private multi-store retail liquor operation. He is now a vineyard owner/operator and is active in leadership positions with a number of community groups.

Rick Giroux - Director

Rick is an experienced businessman and orchardist. Currently active in managing a number of residential properties and mortgage portfolios.

Gil Szabo – Director

Gil resides in Penticton and is the founder of Gil Szabo & Associates for Coldwell Realty and has been the top real estate agent in Penticton many times in the last 25 years of practice.

Brenda Gould - Director

Brenda Gould*

Brenda is a successful professional archaeologist and restaurateur residing in Hedley. She has 15 years of experience working with First Nations in the south Okanagan and Similkameen in cultural heritage assessments as well as economic development initiatives associated with heritage tourism. Brenda is a former client (twice) of CFOS, a previous member of the Economic Gardening Steering Committee and a current member of the Loans Committee.

George Stayberg – Director

George resides in Penticton and is one of the founding Community Futures members. He is a past City of Penticton Councillor and Regional District Director. George has owned and operated a number of businesses including manufacturing and car dealerships. He is currently the owner of Midtown RV.

Sharan Jung - Director

Sharan Jung

Sharan Jung has been the Manager of the Princeton & District Community Skills Centre since 1999.  The Princeton Skills Centre is a Non Profit Employment and Skills training agency operating in Princeton & Rural Area H.

Prior to the Princeton Skills Centre, Sharan spent 10 years in local government in Northeastern BC, where she was a Deputy Municipal Clerk and Human Resources Manager.  Upon moving to Princeton in 1989, Sharan took on the role of Human Resources Manager with the Weyerhaeuser Canada Sawmill operation before taking a brief hiatus to start a family and raise her 2 children before their school years.

Sharan is a Lifelong Learner and a passionate advocate for post-secondary training.  She is a competent professional with post-secondary certification in  Business as well as Municipal  Administration, Adult Learning, Career Development, Human Resources Management & Industrial Relations.  

Sharan is a Certified Career Development Practitioner, and a Certified Provincial Instructor.
